Central Florida encompasses a large geographical area that includes Eustis, Tavares, Mount Dora, Leesburg and Umatilla. Each of the cities has their own unique charm and reasons to move there, so we’ll highlight each city to help you with your decision of where to move.
Mount Dora is known for its small town charm and plethora of festivals. Its most popular festival, The Mount Dora Craft Fair, takes place in October and brings over 250,000 people to downtown. But don’t let that scare you away. The downtown area is extremely walkable and dog-friendly. The variety of shops make it easy to find whatever you are looking for – and maybe some stuff you didn’t know you needed!
Eustis offers a quaint downtown with popular brewery, Wolf Branch Brewing. No matter your preferences, there’s a craft beer for you. And don’t forget to walk around the beautiful Ferran Park. The park overlooks Lake Eustis and has stunning sunset views.
Tavares – the Seaplane City – is home to many seaplanes. You can even book a trip around the lake through Jones Brothers & Co. But if flying through the air isn’t your thing, you can also book a tour on the Dora Queen.
Leesburg is a centralized hub located equidistant from Orlando and The Villages®. Come to play at Via Entertainment, where you can go bowling, test your skills at arcade games and throw axes. Stay for dinner at one of the many great dining options.
Umatilla, though slightly smaller in population, has some great things to explore. Be sure to check out Sunsational Farms for some family fun and sweet treats! The annual Black Bear Festival, now known as the Florida Wildlife Festival, happens every year in Umatilla as well and works to educate people on bears and other native wildlife.
